Now that we have let the cat out of the bag, I guess I can talk about this whole pregnancy thing on my blog. We have known about this since May and keeping it a secret from friends and family has been so hard. It is especially hard when all you want to do is sleep and stay at home. When you are not typically someone who stays at home all summer, I am sure some people were wondering.
I have spent the majority of this pregnancy sick. I am not sure this 100 degree heat is not helping my situation. When I went to the doctor last week I had lost 3 lbs and that is going in the wrong direction. Thankfully the doctor, who I love, gave me some medicine to help the vomiting. Since taking it I have been doing much better. I still haven’t gained any pounds, but I am sure it will come soon enough. Then I won’t be able to stop it. It is funny to notice my growing bump. No a normal person probably can’t tell, but I can and that’s enough for me. Since I am not gaining the weight yet, but my tummy is growing it definitely makes me wonder where the extra is coming from or going. Well, I guess I do know where it was going straight down the drain.
Other than being sick, I am just sleepy. I always loved to sleep and nap when I wasn’t pregnant. Now, I am just napping and still going to bed at 9:00PM. My poor husband doesn’t quite understand why I want to sleep all the time. This goes hand and hand with also not ever wanting to leave the house. When I am not working, I just want to lay around. It probably doesn’t help that the heat makes me not want to go outside. It kind of sucks. I usually spend most of the summer at the lake or pool and I just don’t want to be in the heat very long. It makes it more exhausting.
Even though, it has been a little rough here at the beginning. I know it will end soon and it will be worth the end result. Michael and I are very excited to become parents. We really loved our ultrasound the other day. Seeing our little running baby, whose little legs were just a kicking like crazy and to hear its heartbeat just melts your heart. Michael didn’t know what to expect and he was fun to listen to and watch. I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks for our next appointment. Hopefully by then I will feel wonderful and will be putting on some healthy pounds.
I feel your pain on the heat. I was 6-8 months pregnant last summer when it was so hot. AWFUL! Hope you feel better soon! The fun part is ahead!!! :)
