Confessional Friday: Pet Peeves

Link up Friday is all about Pet Peeves and boy do I have a bunch.  I will spare you all of them and list a few.

1. People who clip their finger nails in public.  First it is gross and not very sanitary for the people around you.  Plus who wants to feel a nail fly and hit them.  Yuck Yuck Yuck.  This is especially bad when it is their toenails.

2. People who try to get on the plane when their boarding pass definitely says group 5 and they have only called first class.  Really people listen to what they are saying.  What drives me even crazier is when they let them onto the plane…HELLO there is a reason for groups!

3. People who enter the airplane and put their carry on luggage in the first compartment and then proceed to the last row of the plane, where the bins are empty.  If you don’t know airplanes typically board back to front and so the poor people at the front have no space when they get on.

4. Bad drivers. There seem to be a lot of these in my area.  This is why my husband wants to move closer to his work.  I am glad I am a good driver or who knows how many wrecks I could have been in…I have never *knock on wood* been the driver in a car accident.

5. Feet.  Anything feet related drives me crazy.  Feet are my nails on a chalkboard.  I don’t like them, I don’t want them to touch me, and I certainly don’t want to rub yours.

6. People who take 10 years to respond to an email.  This is probably work related more than anything, but it drives me nuts when I ask a simple question and it takes two days for a response.  I especially hate it when someone just sent me the message, I respond, and then don’t hear from them again for a week.

Week 23

We are coming up on 6 months! I can’t even begin to think how half a year with Mason has almost come and gone.  We will be having fun on the beach for his 6th Month Birthday in Destin! I am excited to see what Mason thinks about sand and the ocean.  We already know he LOVES the pool.

This past week has been a little rough.  Mason got his first ever illness.  It was sad.  He had a rash and low fever.  He actually never really acted like he felt bad at all.  He was just a little extra fussy in the afternoons.  His sitter came over to help out last week, so I could work and Mason could still get lots of snuggles.  Now that Mason is 100% better, his Mama has a little sinus problem going on.  Can you pass things through a phone?  Pretty sure one of my colleagues has the same thing and she is located in WA.  Oh well!

This is right after I picked him up from school the first day of his sickness.  He slept all afternoon, which was great for this working Mama.IMG_2342Check out these blue eyes.  So big and so blue!IMG_2347This is little man at the doctor.  Check out those bumps.IMG_2353This is what Mason thought about the grape flavor of his medicine.  IMG_2355I might be sick but I will still smile!IMG_2368This is his best performance of poor pathetic me.IMG_2372Check out how bad his rash got on Day 2.  No fever this day, but the rash got worse. New baby LOVE!!

My best friend and sister had a baby this weekend.  I am EXTREMELY sad she is in Honolulu and I am here.  I am wanting soooo bad to jump a plane and be there.  Oh the hardships of having a baby of my own.  Too bad Mason and I can’t jump the 8 hour flight from Dallas to Honolulu.  They will be back stateside in a few months and I will go see them then.  CANNOT WAIT.  I love my bestie and her kiddos.  I am looking forward to our first skype, so I can find out the whole story from big sister.  I have already heard the mama story, but to be a big sister again and now to a little sister.  I just know Skye will have soooo much to tell her Auntie Jen Jen.  And I am sure she will want to know when I am arriving.

In the meantime, let me introduce the newest baby member:

Evaliyna Moon (Moon is extra fitting since the Supermoon happened this weekend)

6lbs, 10oz and 19” long

Born at 12:08AM

Isn’t she the cutest thing ever.  I just love how they look all brand new.  They change so fast it isn’t even funny.  I just want to give this one some extra loves!947136_10151734875303832_1566410631_nDaddy loving on his new little girl.  Two girls…Boys beWARE this military Daddy will have your behind faster than anything.1009307_10151734008723832_617472118_oMommy and big Sister (twice over) looking sooooo happy.  Where Big Brother is in this picture who knows.  Probably pushing buttons and exploring.1013695_10151734875833832_348707259_nShe looks like her Daddy.  Finally he gets a kiddo that looks like him.  Check out that dark hair, which I am sure will become blonde like her sister and brother.  1016164_10151733269198832_719641960_n

Confessional Friday

A Blonde Ambition Link Up

Today is confess random facts about yourself:

1. I am really OCD.  I hide it well, but secretly I have my quirks.  For instance, my husband is not, I repeat, is NOT allowed to fold the towels.  He does it wrong EVERY single time, and he knows how I fold them.  I think he does it to watch me squirm.  It usually takes 2.5 seconds for me to fix them and put them away.

2.  I hold grudges.  Oh yeah.  Me.  BAD.  Don’t make me mad.  I will cut you off.  I occasionally feel bad about this, but then I remember how happy I am that that person is no longer causing stress in my life and I get over it.

3. I talk to my Mom on the phone 10 times a day…maybe more.  Always have and always will.  If something ever happened to my Mama I will probably go into a deep depression.  I tell her almost everything.  My husband would say I tell her everything, but she is the BEST secret keeper.  Plus she is not afraid to tell me when I am being ridiculous.

4. I eat like I am 5.  Grilled Cheese please! I always joke that is why I am still on the smaller size.  My body is confused at what is my real age.  I eat more chocolate and sweets during the day than good for me food.  Probably why I have/had high cholesterol.

5. I am a recovering hypochondriac.  I say recovering because I don’t have time to be sick.  When I was a kid, every ache and pain was life threatening.  I am trying not to let Mason have those problems, by not overreacting every time he has a cough.  You know if you look any symptom up on the internet you are dying.  Avoid the internet, especially if you have kids!

5 Months Old

I am baaack! Sorry people, I spent ALL of last week on the road for work and had NO time.  My days are long and crazy, so I am back and so are the pictures.  I will catch up this week.  First, Mason turned 5 months old on the 8th! WOW!!!

Mason_06_09_2013_2536.NEFMason_06_09_2013_2545.NEF

Weight: I weighed him the other day on the big professional scale in my bathroom.  It is very high tech.  I weighed us and then do the baby hand off and weigh myself.  According to this Mason now weighs in at 17lbs.  Woot Woot.  On a side note this mama, now weighs less than pre-pregnancy.

Height: I love measuring how long Mason is getting.  He is 28” long.  I officially purchased the Chicco Convertible car seat.  He is about to outgrow his infant car seat.  I can’t wait to get this and move him over.  He is just getting too big to haul around in the infant car seat.

Clothes: Mason is wearing 6 months and 6-9 months clothing.  He footed PJs are all 6-9 month and most everything else is 6 months.  I just got him a cute 4th of July swim suit and I put it on him this weekend and it was TIGHT.  Oops.

Eats: EVERYTHING! Mason is eating 7oz of formula every 4 hours.  At night we let him have Oatmeal and a veggie or fruit.  He hasn’t refused anything.  We have tried green beans, peas (didn’t love), sweet potatoes (favorite), carrots, squash, peaches (I personally hated the way they smelled), and I think that is it!

Sleeps: He loves naps and sleeping.  Mason goes to bed at 8PM every night and sleeps until 6AM.  LOVE IT! He naps 3-4 times a day still.  When he is sleepy he just wants to be put into his bed.  It is rare that he lets me rock him.  I can tell when he is sleepy because it is the only time he lets me hold him like a baby.

What he is enjoying: He is loving going to “school.”  I think he likes school because in his class he is one of two boys.  Between the teachers and other kids there are 8 girls. He wants to sit up all the time and he is currently LOVING his Johnny Jump Up.  He jumps and laughs and jumps and laughs for 30 minutes straight or more.  He is also talking/making noise more and more each week.  Can’t wait to hear him say MAMA or
DADA.  Soon!

About Us

My photo
Michael and I have been together since 2006. We met in college at the University of Arkansas and began our life together. We bought a house and moved to Fayetteville from the Chicagoland area in November 2009. We were married in 2010 and had our first child, a boy, in 2013. Our favorite thing to do together is travel and we have gotten the opportunity to go to lots of fun places. We are working, breathing, playful parents. Our fur baby and child are the center of our crazy life, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
