Sh*t my Toddler says

I haven't done this in awhile.

  • The other day, Mason was playing downstairs after his sister went to sleep. He and Daddy were a little loud and woke her up. Michael said he would go fix it and Mason said he would go. Michael tried to tell Mason nah it was okay and that he should stay downstairs with Mommy. Mason's answer NO, She needs her brother. As he ran upstairs he kept saying She needs her Brother. Awe!!!
  • If we are driving in the car and Addison starts to cry Mason will immediately start singing Twinkle Twinkle little Star. But sometimes she will start to fuss not cry and I will say Mason will you sing to your sister. His response...She not crying YET. Not yet bud but she is about to...thanks.
  • We are at the prime age where we can say Bye we are leaving you and he will run after us. It is great when trying to get him out of a location without a meltdown. But he always screams DON'T LEAVE ME!! Now if I go somewhere without him and then come back he will say Mama you leave me...why you leave me. Breaks my heart.
  • We were walking the neighborhood and Mason was dressed as Robin (Batman & Robin). We walked by some neighbors walking in the opposite direction and one of the ladies said to Mason ooooo you are scary. Mason did not skip a beat and he said I not scary I Batman. Then he proceeded to explain that Batman and Robin scare off monsters.
  • The same night we were walking, he pointed to the neighbor across the streets house and said look it is a castle. (They have a tower type design in front) He then told me that their daughter, who Mason loves and has a toddler size crush on, was in the tower and needed to be rescued. That imagination. We convinced him he didn't need to go over there, but I told the neighbors I can't promise he won't be standing outside yelling about rescuing Syd.
  • Mason loves to make sad faces. I will ask him what's wrong and he will say I'm sad. My feelings are hurt. Most of the time he is faking to get something he wants. Milking it for all it is worth.

  • One day Mason was running crazy and Addison was on the floor. He came over to her and I thought he was about to fall on her so I push him away. The look on his face was priceless. He said Mommy you pushed me. You need to go to time out.
  • The best moment lately and it totally makes me a bad parent. We have a Halloween mask that Michael likes to wear when handing out candy. It also causes Gabby to become crazy. I was going to show Mason how Gabby reacts, and when I put it on to get Gabby I scared the crap out of Mason. His face was straight horror. I immediately took the mask off but could not stop laughing. He kept saying Mama you scared me. You scared me. I kept saying I am sorry buddy I didn't mean to. Later at bedtime he mentioned it again about how I scared him. I thought of man, this kid is going to have nightmares for weeks, but thankfully he slept great and asked to wear the mask the next morning.

Tulsa Zoo Trip

Over the weekend we decided to go over to Tulsa to take Mason to the Zoo. My brother lives in Tulsa, and we thought it would be a good opportunity to see his new house and visit with him. I always hate taking the kids in the car for long trips but we planned it just right. We left right after Mason's soccer game, when I knew he would be sleepy and take a nap. Mason and AddieMo slept the entire trip to my brother's house. We ate some lunch and quickly left to have as much time as possible at the Zoo.

Mason had a blast. I borrowed our friends double stroller but Mason wanted to walk run the whole time. Thank goodness my brother went with us. Mason was a lot to keep up with during the trip. It was as if he couldn't get enough of the animals. He wouldn't stay as any one animal for long, before he was off running to the next. Get ready for some serious picture overload. I just loved watching the excitement and smile on my children's faces. It makes the 2 hour drive there and back completely worth it.

This is right before the Bear opened his large mouth and tried to eat Mason's head through the glass.

Mason wanted to ride the camel.

Okay, Maybe I wanted to ride the camel and he agreed to go with me.

Isn't she ADORABLE!!!! I love those chubby cheeks!

Old MacDonald Had a Farm...

Hi Tiger!!

Look Mama BIG turtles. He spent very little time in the stroller.

My one photo of them together.
After the Zoo, we went back to my brother's house to hang out, eat dinner, and watch at least part of the Arkansas game. We left my brother's house at halftime as it was getting close to Mason's bedtime and AddieMo was fast asleep in her carseat. I expected Mason to pass out before we left the neighborhood, but it took him a bit to wind down. We were on the highway, when Mason told us he had to go potty. Crap!! He had gone right before we left, but needed to go again. It was dark and along the highway wasn't a good place to stop. Michael finally spotted a side street and pulled off to do our first roadside potty break. As soon as we stopped Mason said Where is the toilet? Poor baby. He didn't mind peeing on the side of the road, but hopefully he doesn't think this is the new norm.

Happy Girl! Hanging out on Uncle Eric's floor.

Overall, it was a great weekend.

Mason Update - 2.5 Years

Mason is becoming such a big boy. He is wild, crazy, and opinionated. He says some of the funniest things to me and to other people. I want to try and remember it all.

  • Our neighbor was messing with Mason the other day and asked him if she could ride his "bicycle". He said "No you won't Fit." She asked him several times and each time he told her that she wouldn't fit. Then her husband asked and he said yeah.
  • Mason will say, "Stop Boy" when you tickle him.
  • I love love love when he says "Thank you Mommy Thank you." We always make him say Thank You to people, but it is the best when he gets so excited over something we are doing and he says Thank you Mommy Thank You!!!
  • Mason thinks that Ribby the Razorback is his best friend. He asked me to call him on the phone so he could talk to him. The only problem, if Ribby was sitting right here he would run and hide.
  • Speaking of best friends. He also thinks Addison and Daddy are his best friends. I am pretty sure Mommy is just Mommy in his eyes. Case in point, below picture...Mason wanted a picture with Addison and as I snapped it he told me she was his best friend. Sweet brother.
  • Mason loves music. He picks up on song lyrics fast. He loves Katy Perry and Taylor Swift the most. He will request them every.single.time.
  • Every time we go to Starbucks, Mason always says he wants coffee. Now I usually get him the kids frozen drink...no caffeine.
That's all the ones I can think of for now. This doesn't even touch the stuff that comes out of his mouth, but I am hoping to keep a better track of them.

About Us

My photo
Michael and I have been together since 2006. We met in college at the University of Arkansas and began our life together. We bought a house and moved to Fayetteville from the Chicagoland area in November 2009. We were married in 2010 and had our first child, a boy, in 2013. Our favorite thing to do together is travel and we have gotten the opportunity to go to lots of fun places. We are working, breathing, playful parents. Our fur baby and child are the center of our crazy life, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
