Christmas

We have had a wonderful couple of weeks. Christmas was spent with family. We started our Christmas holiday on Christmas Eve by driving to my parents house and spending the whole day. Mason loves going to Nana and Papaw’s house. He got to hang out with Uncle Eric and his favorite second doggie Callie. Nana and Papaw went a little overboard on the gift giving again this year, but Mason loved opening all of his presents and helping everyone else open presents.

He walked downstairs and immediately saw his new car. He got in the car and hasn’t left it. He opened all his presents from inside the car. It was so fun to watch. Dec14_12_25_2014_526.NEF Dec14_12_25_2014_528.NEF We spent the day at home, letting Mason play with all of his new toys. He loved driving his car. It goes super fast and he isn’t very good at steering, but that will come with time. Until the steering improves I guess it will be a good workout for us. Dec14_12_25_2014_535.NEF Starting on Christmas night, Mason was getting a rash. When he woke up Christmas morning it was WAY worse. He wasn’t running a fever and acted perfectly fine. I was worried we would be making a Christmas Day walk-in clinic visit. I texted a friend who thought it looked like an allergic reaction. She thought, as long as it didn’t get worse, we could wait until the next day to take him to the doctor. We woke up Friday to it looking worse. So, we took him Friday to the doctor, and got a steroid cream. The doctor thought it was a severe eczema rash. The cream worked its magic and by Friday night he looked so much better. PhotoGrid_1419518718675 Michael’s Mom decided we would do Christmas on Saturday with her and the cousins. We were glad we could go, because the day before with the rash was worrisome. I wasn’t going to take Mason if he could happen to have something to infect his cousins. Mason slept almost 3 hours on Saturday and would have slept more if I had not gotten him up to go to Grandma’s house. I, unfortunately, did not take any pictures. We arrived late and by the time I woke Mason up and ran out the door I just completely forgot.

We have had Michael’s best friend and his wife staying with us this week, which has been a blast. Mason and Gabby both have enjoyed having new people to play with. I don’t know what Mason is going to do when they go home today. For NYE we got a sitter and went to a nice dinner. Since, his friend’s wife and I are both pregnant, we barely made it to midnight. It was happy new year…lets go to sleep. We spent the new year smoking ribs and watching football. It has been a great couple of days and I am ready to take down Christmas and relax this weekend.

About Us

My photo
Michael and I have been together since 2006. We met in college at the University of Arkansas and began our life together. We bought a house and moved to Fayetteville from the Chicagoland area in November 2009. We were married in 2010 and had our first child, a boy, in 2013. Our favorite thing to do together is travel and we have gotten the opportunity to go to lots of fun places. We are working, breathing, playful parents. Our fur baby and child are the center of our crazy life, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
