They grow up too fast...You hear this over and over again, but it is true. He is getting so big and doing more stuff everyday. He is has these great kissable cheeks and I cannot stop kissing them everyday. He is going to hate me when he is 20 years old and I am still trying to kiss those cheeks.FaceTime with Papaw. Papaw took this picture.
Mason is telling the sunshine Hello!
We have tried green beans, peas, and sweet potatoes. This little boy loves to eat and is very good at it. He gets mad at me if I am not fast enough to get the food in his mouth.
Early morning fun laying around!
He loves to look at himself in the phone.
Happy boy!

17 Weeks-Mason
Mason went for his check up yesterday and shots. I think he did better this time around than last time. By yesterday afternoon, he was all smiles and giggles.
STATS
Weight: 15lbs 5oz putting Mason right in the middle at 50%
Height: 26 3/4” We have a long long baby, 95%. If this kiddo does not stop growing, he won’t get to wear half the cute clothes that he has in his closet. He is long and lean.
Head: 16 1/2” Mason has a smaller head, 25%. I will say this doesn’t surprise me, because neither Michael nor I have big heads. I actually think Michael and I have the same size.
I love comparing how much he has grown since his last visit. I think it is interesting that he grew an inch and a half in a week and two inches in two months. In the grand scheme of things that is a lot.
Mason spent most of last week with my parents. They watched Mason and Gabby and allowed us to go to Chicago for a few days. I had to be there for work, so Michael came along and we left Mason at home. It was a wonderful 4 nights of uninterrupted sleep. I thought it would be hard to leave Mason for the first time, but it really was not hard at all. He was happy with his Nana and Papaw playing and getting lots of love.
On Mother’s Day. My first Mother’s Day and Nana’s first as a Grandmother!Mason showing his laid back style. Just hanging out waiting to go to Nana’s house.
Gabby checking out her brother! They are both getting more and more interested in what the other one is doing.
Going for a walk at Nana’s house. I got plenty of pictures and videos to keep me happy.
Early morning shot at Nana’s house.
Nana letting me know he is doing just fine.
This is how we spent the first afternoon back. In his Mama’s arms.
Sleeping with that mouth wide open.
I am his little recliner.
Even though we got shots, we are still as happy as can be!
Taking a walk…Got to prop up those legs and eat that hand.

Mason-Week 16
Mason is growing and going. We are a few days late with the picture update this week, but that is what happens when work becomes super busy and night are even busier. Talking up a storm and wanting to play constantly! I can’t wait to go to the doctor on Monday and found out how much he weighs and how long he is now! Should be fun!
What’s up?Mason was a little warm one night after his bath so I unzipped his shirt and Michael thought it was funny.
Self-Portrait! Mason trying to show me his foot!
Mason’s Auntie Peggy was having a bad week, so he wanted to put on this shirt to help make her day better. I think it worked!
”Where all the Wild things are”
Let me hold my own bottle. Mason has started focusing on how to grab and hold items, and especially find playing with his bottle fun.
So Happy!
Ready for his girlfriend’s bday party. He wanted to look his best!

BIG DAY!
Today is a crazy day! It is our God-Daughter’s Birthday and it is my best friend’s Birthday! AND on this day last year I found out we were going to be having a baby! Wow has the last year changed.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HATTIE!!!! We love being apart of your life and seeing you grow each and everyday!
How freaking cute is this little one!?! She did not hesitate to dig into her birthday cake. It is my favorite part of any 1st Birthday party. She needs to teach this skill to Mason, so he can enjoy his first birthday cake.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE MEGGERS!!! I would post a picture of you with Mason, but you hate all pictures of yourself so instead we will just say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Loving this day and remembering how excited we were to found out we were going to be parents and then also getting to have our sweet little God-daughter/Mason’s girlfriend be born the same day makes this day EXTRA special.

SDMM
Mom’s out there in the world. Do you ever have a freak out moment over the safety of your baby or child? Well, this Mama sure has/did.
We had decided to take Nana’s Tahoe to dinner the other night. Michael went out to her Tahoe and put the base to Mason’s car seat in the car. He knows how to put the base in the car, and that was not the problem. The problem was that the front of the car seat moved A LOT. I said something to Michael about how that is not right and he told me it does that in his Escape and my Highlander. I did not think that was true, but honestly I could not remember trying it.
Then all of the sudden, I started to panic a little bit a lot. I told them it wasn’t safe for the seat to do that. What if we get into an accident? Mason could get seriously injured. This is not right, it should not do that. I was seriously freaking out. Michael finally had to try and calm me down. Telling me we were not going to get into an accident and the car seat was fine. I am pretty sure I was having a heart attack from the thoughts. We ended up leaving the house in the Tahoe, even though I was not happy. I was a nervous wreck the whole way to dinner and all the way home.
A few days later I checked my car and Michael’s car and neither one of the bases moves in the front. I am not sure why Nana’s Tahoe does this, but I am going to try and figure out why. She has the captain’s chairs and they are angled differently than my seats, but still it should be safer. Definitely want my little guy to be super safe riding around.
I think I had complete reasons to panic and freak out. It was definitely over the top and the panic attack was probably too much, but I could not help it. I felt it in my chest. I could not breathe. The thought of something anything happening to Mason just makes me never want to leave the house or his side. Of course, I do leave his side and we leave the house.
Just as a side FYI, we fixed the problem in my Mom’s Tahoe.

Throwback Thursday
About Us
- Married Sperrys
- Michael and I have been together since 2006. We met in college at the University of Arkansas and began our life together. We bought a house and moved to Fayetteville from the Chicagoland area in November 2009. We were married in 2010 and had our first child, a boy, in 2013. Our favorite thing to do together is travel and we have gotten the opportunity to go to lots of fun places. We are working, breathing, playful parents. Our fur baby and child are the center of our crazy life, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
